Dating Projects.
In 2015 I did a social sculpture where I attempted to go on 25 dates in 31 days following all “dating advice for women” on the first search page of Google. I made a magazine of my experience and received an A in my sculpture class for the project. I am interested in using “dating” and dating concepts to make works of art. Here I am playing with ideas of numbers, rating, and the cis-normative way in which dating is still often held.
ART TALKS.
I do two different kinds of ART TALKS. One is where I listen to another artists and film what they say, typically in their space, near their art. interview collection.
I have been collecting interviews with people on video for over 10 years. This is an artistic collection where I am focusing on the unrepeatable nature of humanity. I try to point my camera with my own queer-disabled-femme viewpoint making these interviews both collaborative and not-from-the-male-gaze. When I let someone talk on film it is an act of rebellion and a powerplay.
